The uniquely colorful shop YoYo Arts & Crafts opened in 2010. In the beautiful old town of Chania, on the northwest coast of Crete.
The Argentinian Enrique Garat and his Swedish wife Helen are the creators and owners of this shop and e-shop.
Enrique, an artist, who as a young man, left his hometown Buenos Aires in Argentina after art studies at Bellas Artes, traveled around in Europe and the Middle East for some years until Greece captivated him with its beauty, colors and friendly atmosphere.
The feeling and need to create and being creative in partnership has made Enrique what he is today, talented multi-artist with creations covering a broad spectrum using different materials, textile painting, sundials and leatherworks.
Helen, a teacher and handcrafter from Sweden traveled to Greece in the eighties and stayed there. Some years later she met Enrique and Greece became not only a place that they both loved but also a place where they found their love. As a couple and working partners they have now for 30 years been creating handicrafts and had workshops and shops in the Cyclades Islands, Mount Pelion on the Mainland, in the city of Volos but also in the famous town of Båstad in Sweden. Finally now they have settled in Chania on Crete. YoYo Arts & Crafts is the result of their fantastic way of inspiring each other and working together. They offer a unique touch of new ideas, a tempting challenging and inspirational shop, one for men and one for woman, which tempts you with lots of original t-shirts, clothes and jewellery for men and woman.
